Northern California raised artist Jules Ochoa migrated to Southern California in 2007 after aging out of the foster care system. Jules Ochoa is a self-taught artist with a focus in Impressionism, Expressionism, Surrealism, and Contemporary styles of art. She works in a variety of medias including acrylic paint, charcoal, soft pastel, oil pastel, watercolor and graphite.
Jules Ochoa feels deep ties to nature and to the human experience. Pain, struggle, beauty, and human emotion are heavily prevalent in each piece of art. Jules Ochoa uses surreal images mixed with bright colors and heavy brush strokes to create her unique view of the world.
Jules Ochoa’s technique and style have been influenced by artworks created by Salvador Dali, Vladimir Kush, Vincent van Gogh, Ernest Ludwig Kirchner, and Ida Applebroog.
